Tailoring

Tailoring for a posting you found

How to bring a posting you found elsewhere into TraceScout so it can be scored and tailored for.

A short video for this article is planned

Until it is recorded, the written steps below are complete on their own.

Steps

  1. From Matches, use Tailor for a posting you found.
  2. Paste the full text of the posting into the field provided. Include the responsibilities and the requirements, not only the title.
  3. Submit the posting. TraceScout scores it against your attested resume the same way it scores a match.
  4. Read the score, the strengths and the gaps for that posting.
  5. Continue to Tailor my resume for this role if you decide to apply.

Worth knowing

  • Paste the posting text itself. A short description or a bare link does not give enough to score against.
  • A supplied posting is treated as a real posting for scoring and tailoring, and it appears alongside your other work.
